PURPOSE:To obtain the oxide superconductor free from an impurity phase and having high critical temp. by regulating a specified Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O series oxide superconductor as components. CONSTITUTION:The oxide superconductor is shown by the inequality (0.6>x-y>0; 1>x; 0<y). To manufacture the above oxide superconductor, by using compounds including metallic elements composing the above compositional inequality such as the oxides of each metal or compounds transformable into oxides by burning such as carbonate and nitrate as raw material powder, at first, weighing and mixing are executed so that the compsn. in the inequality is formed, and, if desired, the mixture is calcined. The calcining is executed at 750 to 810 deg.C for 5 to 40 hr in an oxidizing atmosphere. The mixed powder or calcined powder is formed and burnt. The burning is executed at 820 to 900 deg.C for about 10 to 80hr. At this time, the oxygen partial pressure in the atmosphere is preferably set to optimum conditions. |
