PURPOSE: To enlarge the usability of pultrusion and that of an article by a method wherein the article pultruded beforehand is drawn into a slender die including a final shaping zone having a shape different substantially from the article and is softened by heating and pulled out to be reshaped. CONSTITUTION: As for a prepreg supply material, an article which has a longitudinal-cross-sectional area almost equal to the one of a thermoplastic article to be formed afresh and a longitudinal-cross-sectional shape different substantially from the one of the fresh article and which is pultruded beforehand is used. A shaping die 102 is equipped with a plurality of thermocouples 114 for measuring the temperature of a full length and electric strip heaters 116, and when the article pultruded beforehand is once drawn into the die 102, the article is softened by heating sufficiently. The article is reshaped by pulling it out thereafter through an initial shaping zone 107 of a cavity 104 of the die 102 and then through a final shaping zone 108. By this method, the usability of the article is enlarged. |
