The invention relates to a section forming a clip for supporting and holding a sealing member in place on a structure, particularly a motor vehicle bodywork, this section having a U-shaped cross-section with lips 4 projecting from the faces of the branches of the U opposite each other and including a metal reinforcement 2 coated with a flexible and resilient material. In this section, the reinforcement 4 is coated with a body 1 made from a thermoplastic material, whereas the said lips 4 are made from cross-linked rubber and project out of at least one sole part 3 made of rubber attached to the thermoplastic body and rigidly secured to it. <IMAGE>
