Method for diffusing a liquid volatile substance, and in particular perfume, insecticide or a medicament, comprising the use of a vaporiser of the spray pump type expelling a liquid under pressure through a nozzle, characterised by the use of mechanical means during the expulsion phase with a view to obtaining an instantaneous pressure generating a spray in which the particles of the divided liquid have a dimension less than or equal to 25 microns in the liquid phase, and less than one micron in the gaseous phase, after vaporisation, without the substances undergoing any alteration. <IMAGE>
