The invention relates to a device which divides the aquatic units 16 into several volumes 15 in which the reared animals are selected and sorted automatically. It consists of a mesh-type barrage 1 equipped with openings (with or without a tunnel) 12 closing by means of doors 3 which allow the passage in only one direction 11, for reaching another volume, only of the inhabitants meeting the adopted selection criterion (criteria) (size, weight, colour or another parameter). Selection is carried out by an analyser 7 which controls the animals in order to allow or deny them passage. When it is associated with a computer 8, it constitutes a veritable management tool for aquatic farms, permitting, in particular, the management of stocks in terms of quantity, quality and in space, as well as the production statistics.
