PURPOSE:To perform gumming work for printing plate automatically in short time through push button operation on an operating panel by arranging a dampening roller for a water supply unit to be mounted/dismounted onto/from the surface of the printing plate and a gum delivery nozzle located above a rider roller contacting with the dampening roller. CONSTITUTION:Upon depression of a start button for a gumming device on an operating panel after finish of printing work, air cylinder of a water supply unit is brought into operating condition and when the roller position knob on the operating panel is operated a roller arm rolls to disengage a water stop roller 9 from a vibration roller 8. Then a gum delivery unit is operated to deliver gum, together with the air fed from an air compressor, from the tank through a hose and a nozzle pipe 12 and spray the gum to a rider roller 10 through a nozzle 11. Since a plate cylinder 2 rotates with low speed to cause rotation of the dampening roller 9 and the rider roller 10 contacting therewith, gum sprayed to the rider roller 10 is spread uniformly in all directions and applied uniformly onto the plate face. |
