PURPOSE:To enable printing onto a rough sheet and high speed printing through simple structure by forming a glazed layer, a heating resistor film having center in the opposite direction from main scanning direction and extending from the central top section of the glazed layer, an electrode, and a protective film on an inclining face formed between main and end faces of the substrate in a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A glazed layer 15 is provided on an inclining face 22 formed between the main face 23 and the end face 21 of the substrate 14 in a thermal head 17, while a thermal resistor film 16 is formed thereon such that the center thereof exists at a position of inclining angle theta1=2 deg. from the perpendicular of the inclining face 22 and electrode films 24, 25 and a protective film 18 are provided thereon. The perpendicular or the normal of the inclining face 22 is set to make an inclining angle theta2 in the direction perpendicular, in the opposite direction, to main scanning direction. When the inclining angle theta2 is increased, recording sheet can be peeled off in short time (under high temperature state) with high peeling angle while ensuring sufficient heat flow from the thermal resistor film 16 to an ink ribbon 13. |
