PURPOSE:To prevent the damage due to freezing, no-water operation or the like by a method wherein a plurality of incliningly moving plates are incliningly movably and pivotally supported above a heat collecting plate in the heat collector and the angle of inclining motion of said plates is regulated through a cylinder in proportion to the amount of hydrogen produced within the vessel of metal hydride. CONSTITUTION:The solar heat collector is to house the heat collecting plate 2 in a case 1, at the upper surface of which a transparent plate 3 is provided, and to heat transfer medium passing through a heat transfer medium tube passage (not shown) imbedded in the heat collecting plate 2. In this case, a plurality of the incliningly moving plates 4, the one end of each of which is connected one after another with a pulling cord 5, are incliningly movably and pivotally supported between the heat collecting plate 2 and the transparent plate 3. One end of the pulling cord 5 is connected to a tension spring 6 and the other end to a piston 7 in a cylinder 8. The cylinder 8 is communicatingly connected to the vessel 10, in which the metal hydride occluding hydrogen by cooling is packed, and the angle of inclining motion of the incliningly moving plates 4 is adjusted in proportion to the amount of hydrogen produced within the vessel 10. |
