SPACE-PLATE ARC-CHUTE FOR AN AIR-BREAK CIRCUIT BREAKER

An arc-chute of the space-plate type is provide for an air-break circuit breaker in which a molded insulating casing is provided with grooves for supporting the spaced magnetizable conducting plates. The casing has an enlarged lower opening communicating with a laterally disposed restricted opening. Additionally, the insulating casing has flange, or shelf means integrally formed therewith to prevent downward movement or blasting of the arcing gases, which are heated during the arcing interrupting operation.
