PURPOSE:To support a drum firmly and enable smooth relative rotation between the drum and a hub even at the time of releasing a clutch by supporting the drum by a central supporting member rigidly secured in a transmission case and integrating the clutch hub with an outer race so as to enable two-point support. CONSTITUTION:The hub 554 of a fourth clutch 14 is integrally fixed at the peripheral part of the outer race of a first one-way clutch 31, and a band-type first brake 21 is disposed at the peripheral part of a drum for accommodating the clutch 14. Longitudinally protruding cylinder parts 312, 314 are formed at the inner peripheral part of a first central supporting member 310 rigidly secured in a transmission case 300. The rear end inner peripheral part of the drum 570 is then connected to a flange 702 through a spline 702a. As the clutch accommodating drum provided with the band brake at its peripheral part is independently supported by the member integral with the case, the drum is firmly supported, as well as smooth operation can be obtained in each transmission stage. |
