PURPOSE:To prevent a riding feeling from being aggravated at the time of sudden deceleration by changing a down-shift line to the lower speed side as the deceleration of a vehicle becomes larger at the time of deceleration in the totally closed state of a throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:When a shift lever 9 is judged to be in an automatic transmission range, a controller 6 judges a throttle valve 16 to be in the totally closed state on the basis of throttle opening signals from a throttle opening sensor 17, that is, an accelerator in the totally closed state, and thereby judges a brake in action on the basis of brake signals from a brake sensor 18, that is, a foot brake in operation. The controller 9 then judges a vehicle being suddenly decelerated on the basis of speed signals from a speed sensor 19. At the time of sudden deceleration, the down-shift line from the fourth to the third gear speed is changed to the low speed side, and the down shift from the fourth to the third gear speed is performed at the time of low speed rather than at the time of moderate deceleration. A riding feeling is not therefore aggravated even with plural down-shifts performed continuously in a short time. |
