N-substd. 3-aryloxy-2-hydroxypropylamines of formula (I) and their tautomers, enantiomers and acid-addn. salts are new. In (I), R1 = naphthyl, a 3,4-dihydrocarbostyril gp. bonded through its benzene ring, phenyl monosubstd. by 1-5C alkylsulphonyloxy, allyl, allyloxy, CN or CH2CONH2, phenyl monosubstd. by a 1-3C alkyl gp. substd. by 1-6C alkoxy, 3-6C cycloalkoxy, (3-6C cycloalkyl)methoxy, 2-(1-6C alkoxy)ethoxy, 2-(3-6C cycloalkoxy)ethoxy, 2-((3-6C cycloalkyl(methoxy)ethoxy' or 2-phenoxyethoxy, or phenyl substd. by a 1-3C alkyl gp. and a halogen atom; A = 2-4C alkylene opt. mono- or disubstd. by 1-3C alkyl; R3 = H or 1-3C alkyl; R4 and R5 = H or R4+R5 is a bond; B = a gp. of formula B1-B3. In B1-B3, R6 = H, halogen or 1-3C alkyl; Y1 = a bond, O, SO2 or NHCOCH2; X1 = N or CR; R = H, OH or 1-3C alkyl; X2 = O or NH; Y2 = a bond or NH.
