The monitoring and control arrangement has a solar generator (46) which supplies current to an accumulator (42,44) which can act as the power supply for one or several games machines (1-4). A central control unit (9) is connected to the games machines without wires, esp. via radio links. The central control unit can be powered by the accumulator supplied by the solar generator. A reserve battery can be provided in addition to the solar-powered accumulator. USE/ADVANTAGE - Coin-operated billiard tables to enable them to be operated independently of the mains power supply.
