PURPOSE:To improve safety by maintaining the steering force constant during steering operation irrespectively of variation of car speed thereby preventing abrupt variation of steering performance. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic processing circuit 44 will perform open/close control of a solenoid valve 28 for restricting a control valve 3 on the basis of steering signal theta and car speed signal V. Under straight travel while turning the handle H to neutral position, if the car speed exceeds the setting level in a memory circuit 45, said valve 28 is opened in the direction for communicating the circuits 32a, 34b or when entering from power steering into high speed operation it is exchanged to manual sterring, while if the car speed drops below setting level under straight travel, said valve 28 is closed in the direction for blocking the circuit 32a to return to power steering. Consequently operationability is improved under high speed travel. |
