PURPOSE:To increase the quality of recording and reproduction of a normal signal, through specific circuit constitution, in a magnetic recorder and reproducer which can record and reproduce an audio multiplex signal. CONSTITUTION:A band pass filter 32 has a band pass characteristic for a pilot signal of an audio multiplex signal, a detector 33 outputs a discriminating signal whether or not an input signal is an audio multiplex signal and the output is applied to a control terminal of amplifiers 22 and 35. The suffix (a) of a changeover switch is selected at the recording mode and the (b) is at the reproduction mode. When an audio multiplex signal is inputted to a terminal 21, the pilot signal is detected and the level is controlled to a specified level at the amplifiers 22 and 35, and when a signal not being the audio multiplex signal is inputted at the recording mode, the control of the gain of the amplifier is made and the input is amplified by about 6 dB in comparison with the amplification of the main signal at the audio multiplex signal processing. Thus, the noise reduction can effectively be made. |
