PURPOSE:To improve a front view in an automobile, by tilting a rocking center line set up downward the rear of a head lamp lid to the same direction as the front end edge of the lid in a plane sight, while setting the lid front end edge to almost nearly the horizontal direction when the lid is rocked upward. CONSTITUTION:In this headlight device, there are provided with a head lamp 11 going up and down between a lighting-up position and a housing position in keeping up its forward attitude and a head lamp lid 31 being rockably opened or closed as interlocking with lifting motion of the lamp 11, while a front end edge 31a of the lid 31 is tilted from the center side through the lateral side of a car body and simultaneously a rocking center line Y-Y is set up downward the rear of the lid 31. Under this constitution, the rocking center line Y-Y is tilted in the same direction as the lid front end edge 31a in a plane sight. With this, when the lid 31 is rocked upward, the front end edge and a upward ridgeline in front of the head lamp are well paralleled with each other as much as possible so as to cause the lid front end edge 31a to become almost nearly the horizontal direction, thus a front view in an automobile is improved. |
