PURPOSE: To reduce cost and to facilitate handling by providing inner and outer rings with flanges, forming a lubricant groove radially from the inner or outer peripheral surface of each flange, making the groove shift to another radially oriented shallow groove, and forming the crest and root of a corrugation in the other groove. CONSTITUTION: A shallow groove 10 is formed in a circumferential part of a thrust surface 8 and extends the overall radial width of the end face 7 of an inner ring 3. Next, a deep groove 9 is laid and embossed over the range of the groove 10 starting from the outer peripheral surface 11 of a flange 4 provided at the inner ring 3. The groove 9 has a bottom face 12 tilted at an angleαto the end face 7 and extends to the thrust surface 8. During operation, lubricant passes through a gap 16 between the flange 2 of an outer ring 1 and the flange 4 of the inner ring 3, flows into the groove 9, reaches the root 15 of the groove 10, and leads to the thrust surface. In that case, the lubricant produces dynamic pressure through relative movement to a machine element (not shown in the figure) in the groove 10 to bear an axial force. During inoperative time, the inner ring can be removed by inserting the tip of a tool into the groove 9.
