摘要 PURPOSE:To more reduce a condensing spot, to improve a light utilizing rate and to enable recording with high density by providing a light intensity distribution converting means, setting the quantity of incident light to a condenser lens to be maximum in a peripheral part and smoothly decreasing the quantity of light toward the center. CONSTITUTION:Emitting light from a semiconductor laser 1 is collimated by a collimator lens 2 and condensed to a recording medium 6 by a condenser lens 5. At this time, by using a light intensity converter 3, the distribution of the intensity in an (x) direction for the light incident on the lens 5 is formed as shown with a figure 23. Then, the quantity of light is made maximum in the peripheral part of the lens and smoothly decreased as the light is gradually closed to the center of the lens. Finally, the intensity is less than 15% of a maximum value near the center. Thus, the light intensity distribution of the condensing spot is set as shown with a figure 26 and a super resolution effect is generated. Then, the height of a side lope 28 is lowered and the spot is reduced. Further, the light using rate is improved and the recording can be executed with the much higher density.
