<??>The invention provides a device for holding and guiding a projectile (4) in relation to the cylindrical casing (2) of an ammunition (1) of the telescopic type, comprising an annular ring (3) which is fitted in the casing and in which the front part of the projectile is accommodated, the latter being of the sub-calibre type and thus comprising a sub-projectile (12) arranged inside a sabot (11) of the same calibre, this sabot carrying, in the region of its rear part, at least three arms (14) uniformly spaced angularly from one another and ensuring guidance within a barrel of a firearm, this device being characterised in that it comprises means (15, 17, 20, 25) ensuring that the projectile bears on the inner surface of the casing (2) over its entire travel within the latter.
