The invention relates to a device responsive to impacts and overturning, placed on the "floor" of a vehicle, and capable of triggering a signal on the basis of a sudden deceleration or an overturning. This device consists of a truncated-conical casing (1) with vertical axis and closed at the top and in which a sphere (4), whose weight is sufficient to keep the lever (6) of the microcontact (5) in the bottom position by way of the spring (7), can dance freely. The movement of the sphere (4) caused by an impact takes place vertically by reaction on the conical wall, thus freeing the microcontact. In the case of overturning, the sphere moves under gravity, thus freeing the microcontact. This device according to the invention is particularly intended for any transport vehicle, and enables signals of any kind to be automatically triggered in the event of an accident. <IMAGE>
