INPUT NETWORK OF CHANGEOVER CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To enhance reliability by inserting a parallel LC ringing circuit between an AC line and a switching power supply rectifier. CONSTITUTION: A parallel LC ringing circuit 413 is inserted between an AC feeder line 401 and a full-wave rectifier 404. The LC ringing circuit 413 comprises an inductor 416 and a capacitor 417. It generates a periodic time signal depending on the AC applying voltage and improves power factor by decreasing RMS of the current rectified through the rectifier 404.
