PURPOSE:To obtain a highly heat-resistant heat-sensitive ink roll by using a silicon-treated continuous foam which consists of an organic polymer continuous foam impregnated with silicon resin as a support and is subjected to the removal of extra silicon resin and the curing of the resin. CONSTITUTION:A silicon-treated continuous foam is used as a thermally sensitive ink roll which consists of an organic polymer continuous foam impregnated with silicon resin after the removal of extra silicon resin and the curing of the resin. Materials such as polyester urethane, polyether urethane and MBR are used for the organic polymer continuous foam. The recommendable silicon resin is millable silicon rubber (thermally vulcanizable silicon rubber) or silicon RTV rubber. Use of silicon resin of the lowest allowable viscosity is recommended. In addition, if metallic oxides such as iron, titanium and rare earths are added as filers to the silicone resin (including rubber), the resin becomes more highly heat-resistant. |
