<p>Leaves are detached from freesia bulbs by gripping them and pulling free close to the bulbs. The transport mechanism can be kept running continuously while this is done, detachment being by two contra-rotating rollers and a short top and long bottom clamping belt. The belts are of trapezium-section, so as to grip the leaves in a zigzag pattern between them.</p> |
