Solvent-resistant polyurethane materials

The materials are made by reaction of di-isocyanates and polyols, using as chain extenders bufunctional alcoholes containing both primary and secondary hydroxyl groups. Additional bifunctional alcohols containing only primary hydroxyl groups may be included. The products have substantially higher resistance to solvents, esp. to fuels and oils, than polyurethanes made using alcohols containing primary hydroxyl groups only, as chain extenders.
