<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive fuel feeder in which the accuracy and reliability are enhanced over a long working lifetime by an arrangement wherein an electric signal is outputted as a function of the head pressure in response to the fuel head pressure in a tank. CONSTITUTION: Since a fuel returned from art engine flows over the upper chamber 24 of a tubular body 12, the fuel level in an introduction pipe 52 is kept at a maximum design fuel level 58 or above during operation. Consequently, a stabilized reference head pressure is provided by the introduction pipe 52. Since the fuel level in an introduction pipe 54 follows up the fuel level in a surrounding tank, the output from a pressure sensor 64 to an amplifier 66 is varied as a function of the difference between the reference head pressure and a measuring head pressure and the actual fuel level in the tank 16 can be indicated accurately on an instrument 68. This structure enhances the accuracy and reliability over a long working lifetime while reducing the cost.</p> |
