PURPOSE:To prepare a coolant compsn. having an excellent corrosionproof effect on an aluminum alloy by compounding a small specified amt. of strontium compd. into the coolant compsn. CONSTITUTION:A strontium compd. (e.g. strontium nitrate) is compounded into a coolant compsn. in an amt. of 0.0001 to 0.1wt.% based on the coolant compsn., thereby giving a coolant compsn. having an excellent corrosionproof effect on metal, esp. on an aluminum alloy. Thus the stable coolant compsn. is easily obtd., and the obtd. coolant compsn., when used with a conventional corrosion-proof agent (e.g. phosphate, borate, nitrate, molybdate, benzoate, or triazoles), can reduce the quantity of a harmful corrosionproof agent. The compsn. is very effective in a cooling system of a light-weight car. |
