摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method and a device for optimising combustion in an open batch furnace known as a rotating fire furnace for firing carbon blocks, this furnace comprising a plurality of preheating chambers, firing chambers and cooling chambers aligned in series, each chamber consisting in the juxtaposition, alternately, of hollow heating partitions in which the combustion gases circulate and of cells in which the carbon blocks to be fired are stacked, the combustion gases being extracted via a suction pipe linked by nozzles to each of the heating partitions of the first chamber for natural preheating. The device is characterised in that each nozzle 2 of the suction pipe is fitted with a movable obstructing flap 11, controlled by a motor 12, with a means for measuring the temperature and the underpressure in the corresponding heating partition 5, with a means 19, 20, 21 for measuring the opacity by reflection of the smoke coming from each heating partition, and with a means for slaving the position of the obstructing flap 11, and thus the throughput in each partition, to the combined measurement of the opacity of the smoke, of the temperature and of the underpressure. <IMAGE></p>
