PURPOSE: To easily produce a catalyst for the complete reduction of NOx, at a low cost by vigorously kneading reactive anatase titanium dioxide having a large specific surface area with metal oxides and additives and carrying out drying and calcinating at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION: Reactive titanium dioxide which is entirely or predominantly anatase and has a BET specific surface area of 40-500 is vigorously kneaded with oxide of tungsten, silicon or the like and oxide of vanadium, niobium or the like or their precursors, and other additives. The kneaded material is extrusion-molded, the resultant molding is dried while slowly raising the temp. at <=60 deg.C and it is calcinated at 300-800 deg.C final temp. while stepwise raising the temp. The objective catalyst which attains the selective complete reduction of NOx in oxygen-contg. waste gas in the presence of ammonia is easily produced at a low cost. |
