PURPOSE: To control the peak current and the average current in a winding simultaneously by providing a bidirectional bridge stage comprising a bidirectional switch and a reactive element i.e., the winding of a motor, and subjecting the current flowing through the winding to servo control according to a sine wave reference level. CONSTITUTION: The power module for controlling a DC motor electronically comprises an input filter 10, a bidirectional current output stage 11 for feeding a variable duration voltage pulse and an amplitude controlled current from an unregulated voltage supply, and bridge stage 12 including bidirectional switches 13 connected with the winding 14 of a motor arranged in this order, wherein the bidirectional switch 13 corresponds to each diode 21. The current flowing through the winding 14 has a triangular waveform and subjected to servo control with reference to a sine waveform reference in order to adjust the position of a motor by one full step or a micro step at a time. |
