PURPOSE:To make it possible to use even a motor having low starting torque by inserting a movable block, between a press and a cutting blade during the cutting operation of a high speed running cutter for electrically seamed pipes, to operate the cutting blade. CONSTITUTION:In order to cut the material 9 to be cut, constantly a motor 2 drives a press 3 and a movable block 6 is moved backward through a cylinder 20, releasing the connection of a die holder 16 to a base plate 18. When the material is cut, a forward travelling of the die set is started by means of a signal from a controller 10. When the die holder 16 is at its upper dead position, the cylinder 20 advances the block 6 to insert it between the holder 16 and the base plate 18. Consequently, a descending motion of the press 3 and the die holder 16 is transmitted to the base plate 18 through the block 6 and they are fixed through a chuck block 15 driven by a cam block 17 during its initial descending period, to be cut through a cutting blade 5. Then they are transfered to their elevation stroke and recovered to the waiting condition. |
