The invention relates to a safety canister for packaging individual perishable articles. The canister comprises a cylindrical can body 1 intended to constitute a container for the perishable articles. The can body 1 comprises an outer lateral surface with surface roughness less than 500 mu m and has, over at least one cylindrical section, a wall provided with openings 10, 11 intended to be used for inserting or withdrawing perishable articles. A lid 2, of the bell type, has a cylindrical section like that of the can body 1. The lateral surface of the lid presents the same surface condition as the outer lateral wall or surface of the can body 1.
