PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of steam from high pressure side steam chamber to low pressure side by providing a seal member in a gap between a projection for partitioning the steam chambers of different pressure between the external and internal wheel chambers of steam turbine and fitting groove. CONSTITUTION:High pressure discharge chamber 4 to be formed between the high/intermediate pressure external wheel chamber 1 and high pressure internal wheel chamber 2 of steam turbine and extraction chamber are partitioned through partitioning section 8. A seal member 20 is placed in a gap 18 between a projection 12 of partitioning section 8 and the fitting groove 14. The seal member 20 is constructed with seal fins 24 splitted in circumferential direction and a spring 26 for pressure contacting said fins 24 against the innercircumferential face of projection 12 provided in said chamber 1. Upon increase of the differential pressure between the high pressure discharge chamber 4 and extraction chamber 5, the seal fins 24 are pushed in the gap 18 in the arrow direction (a) to contact one endface of fin 24 with one endface of fin insertion groove 20 thus to seal the gap 18. |
