The invention relates to a device capable of exerting a driving force on a moving body without exerting a reaction on a mass. It consists of a cylinder 4 containing a disc 3 defining a high-pressure zone 5 and a low-pressure zone 6 sustained by a pneumatic pump (not represented) opening out at 7 and 8. The disc 3, which can be driven by a motor 10 via its spindle 2, undergoes a pressure effect 5 which is correspondingly less as its rotation speed increases (Bernoulli's hydrodynamic equation). The spindle is held by two bearings 1 and 9. The driving force is exerted on the top of the cylinder (according to the figure). The device according to the invention is intended for the traction of land vehicles or marine vehicles and for the lift and traction of aircraft. <IMAGE>
