The invention relates to a device capable of exerting a driving force on a moving body without exerting a reaction on a mass. It consists of a cylinder 4 containing a disc 3 defining a high-pressure zone 5 and a low-pressure zone 6 sustained by a pneumatic pump (not represented) opening out at 7 and 8. The disc 3, which can be driven by a motor 10 via its spindle 2, undergoes a pressure effect 5 which is correspondingly less as its rotation speed increases (Bernoulli's hydrodynamic equation). The spindle is held by two bearings 1 and 9. The driving force is exerted on the top of the cylinder (according to the figure).
