<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently separate water vapor from a gaseous mixture by extracting the water vapor from the gaseous mixture by alternately using two absorbents, then separating one component by means of a membrane and using a permeate gas stream to desorb water from the absorbent to be regenerated. CONSTITUTION: Water vapor is extracted from a compressed stream of the gaseous mixture out of a compressor 2 by a first absorbent 34 while a second absorbent 38 is regenerated. Then the gas stream from which generated water is removed is separated by the membrane 20 to produce a permeate gas 24 rich in one main component and a compressed product stream 22 rich in another main component. Then the permeate gas stream 24 is used to desorb water from the absorbent to be regenerated and the regenerated absorbent is repeatedly used instead of the absorbent full of water and the operation is repeated. Consequently, water vapor can be efficiently separated in advance from the gaseous mixture introduced for separation.</p> |
