GAS PERMSELECTIVE CONJUGATE HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a conjugate hollow fiber membrane excellent in gas permselectivity by imparting to said membrane the unsymmetrical structure composed of a skin layer formed essentially of fumaric acid diester polymer and substantially free from through holes and of a porous supporting layer contg. polyamide. CONSTITUTION:The subject membrane has an unsymmetrical structure composed of a skin layer substantially free from through holes and a porous supporting layer. This skin layer is formed of fumaric acid diester polymer contg. the repeating unit having the general formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different 1-12C alkyl groups, each of which may contain heteroatom and the hydrogen atom of which may partly or wholly be replaced with chlorine or fluorine atom). The conjugate hollow fiber membrane so formed is excellent in gas permselectivity and easy to produce by a single step with a simple equipment and operation.
