<p>PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of the size of an absorption tower by supplying the gas introduced from a gas inlet opening of a primary absorbing part at the lower part of the absorption tower through a gas passageway defined between an inner tube and the inner wall of the tower, whereby the gas is brought into contact with diffused absorbing liq. for cooling, dust removal and desulfurization. CONSTITUTION:An absorption tower 40 is provided in its interior with a primary absorbing part 50 and a secondary absorbing part 60 at its lower part and upper part, respectively. A gas passageway 52 defined between an inner tube 51 arranged in the nearly central part of the tower 40 and the inner wall thereof is communicated at its upper open end with the secondary absorbing part 60 and receives in its lower part serving as a receiving tank the absorbing liq. dropping from the secondary absorbing part 60. The gas passageway 52 is provided with a gas inlet opening 53 and the inner tube 51 is provided at its side wall with a gas conducting opening 55 which, in a position at a predetermined distance from the gas inlet opening 53 along the gas passageway 52, is communicated with the inner tube 51 through the gas passageway 52. A plurality of absorbing liq. injecting nozzles 12 is provided at a plurality of places in a gaseous stream direction through the gas passageway 52 to the gas conducting opening 55.</p> |
