PURPOSE:To improve strength and lubricating ability by infiltrating low m.p. metal of copper series, lead series, etc., into a sintered compact composed of metal powder and solid lubricant of graphite, MoS2, etc. CONSTITUTION:The metal powder of copper, iron, tungsten, etc., and the solid lubricant of graphite, MoS2, WS2, BN, etc., are mixed compacted and sintered to make a sliding material. Successively, the low m.p. metal of the copper series, lead series, tin series, etc., are infiltrated into the void part in inner part of the above sliding material. In this infiltration, e.g. the green compact for infiltration is put on the above compacting material and heated at the prescribed temp. for the prescribed time under ammonia decomposition gas so as not to be oxidized and at the same time of sintering, infiltrating material is infiltrated into the sliding material. In the other case, after sintering, the filtrating treatment is executed. By this method, the greasefree sliding material having high strength and good lubricating ability is obtd. |
