A channel-assignment equipment EA is intended to adapt first and second transmission buses BT112, BT121 of an automatic exchange with asynchronous sorting of self-routable digital messages A1 to first and second groups LC121 to LC12B, LS12; LC211 to LC21B, LS21 of PCM type transmission links in order to interconnect this automatic exchange A1 to an assigned-channel time-division automatic exchange A2. The assignment equipment comprises a plurality of means of departure and of arrival ensuring bidirectional communications. A means of departure ensures a communication between a requesting party served by the automatic exchange with asynchronous sorting and a requested party served by the time-division automatic exchange.
