O.Z. 0050/40853 A highly dilatant copolymer dispersion containing, as essential components, an emulsion copolymer prepared from 1 to 10 % by weight, based on the sum of the monomers employed, of .alpha.,.beta.-monoolefinically unsaturated carboxylic acids and other olefinically unsaturated monomers, in which the emulsion copolymer is prepared in the presence of from 5 to 30 % by weight, based on the sum of the monomers employed, of allyl carboxylate or alkylallyl carboxylate containing 2 or more copolymerizable olefinic double bonds, or a mixture thereof, the alkyl radical containing 1 to 4 C atoms, and the preparation thereof.
