摘要 Transmission phantom for total performance assessment in scintillation camera imaging as well as a procedure for mass production. The phantom is shaped as a block of constant thickness and contains mainly two homogeneous materials with different radiation attenuation properties. The material (1) which attenuates radioactivity moderately is built as a relief and the other, more strongly attenuating, material (2) fills the remaining volume. Thereby a variation across the phantom surface is achieved concerning the ability to let through radiation. When the phantom is located on top of a uniform source of photonemitting radionuclides, a distribution of radiation intensity is obtained closely resembling that obtained in a patient. The phantom may be mass produced through the preparation (from a mould) of relief, bottom plate and side wall as a whole piece, whereafter the most absorbing material is poured into it, allowed to harden and milled to a flat surface.
