PURPOSE: To easily suture artery and vein by providing a surgical stapler with one pair of scissors equipped with a vessel gripping jaw, a means for setting a distance between the scissors and a stapler arm body, as well as a means for ramming a staple. CONSTITUTION: Vessel B to be sutured is gripped by scissors 5, and an end part 52 of the vessel is turned up outside and covered on an outer supporting surface of a jaw 6 of the scissors 5, 5, to form a cuff 53. Then, tips of the scissors 5, 5 are inserted together with the cuff 53 of the vessel B into an incised aperture 50. Stapler arms 20, 22 are bonded by means of screws 34, 34. Distances between arms 20, 22 and the corresponding scissors 5, 5 are adjusted in such a way that stapler heads 24, 24 contact a wall tissue of vessel A to be sutured by turning screws 32, 32. Then, an assembly of the scissors 5, 5 and arms 20, 22 is mounted on staple ramming mechanisms 41-44, to push two rows of staples from respective stapler heads 24 by gripping handles 41, 43 and suture the cuff 53 of the vessel B to the side wall of the vessel A from above and below. |
