<p>The dyes are of formula:- (in which R1 and R2 are H, alkyl or aralkyl, X is H, alkyl or alkoxy, Y is H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or acylamino, Z is halogen alkylsulphonyl, aryl sulphonyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkyl mercapto, aryl mercapto, CN, carboxyl, carbamoyl, acylamino or -NHQ, Q is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, n is 0-3; if R1 and R2 are H, or unsubstd. alkyl, Y is acylamino), and they are prepd. by diazotising opt. substd. 1-amino anthraquinones and coupling with opt. substd. anilines. The dyes are suitable for use on synthetic fibres, esp. linear aromatic polyesters and their blends with cotton, giving yellow to reddish-brown shades of good build-up and colour yield, and excellent fastness to thermofixing, washing and ironing.</p> |
