<p>A sulfonated heat-resistant polymeric material containing at least 1 % by weight (in terms of sulfur content) of sulfone groups and an ammonia adsorption capacity of at least 10 mg/g, which is produced by heat-treating at 250 to 500°C a starting material composition mainly comprising a sulfonated aromatic polymeric compound containing an aromatic sulfonic acid or its salt as the repeating unit and being soluble in aqueous solvents.</p> |
