The chair (1) for a hall has its seat automatically flapping upwards, and locked in a sitting position by a holder-clamp (14) situated on the seat's (6) underside and fitting into a locking piece movably mounted on the chair-frame (2). A coupling is joined to the adjacent chair and is pulled out from the side of the chair frame (2). The locking piece and coupling form one slide-plate (9) moving horizontally in a slot (10) in the chair-frame (2). The pull-out free end (11) of the plate (9) has a coupling (12), while the other end (13) forms the locking piece fitting into the holder-bracket (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - Chairs for a hall or audetoriam are easily assembled and dismantled by means of a coupling attaching them to each other.
