PURPOSE:To obtain the title material having high surface electric charge density, high cleaning power and slight dusting, comprising woven or knit fabric consisting essentially of continuous ultrathin filaments of polypropylene and polyethylene having specific fineness wherein the ultrathin filaments are entangled. CONSTITUTION:Polypropylene as an island component and polyethylene as a sea component are spun by using a sea-island type spinneret to prepare sea island type conjugate filament, which is used as warp and weft and woven to give high-density taffeta, which is treated with trichloroethylene, etc., and the sea component is extracted and removed to give the aimed material for cleaning cloth which is woven or knit fabric consisting essentially of continuous ultrathin filament of polypropylene and/or polyethylene having 0.5-0.05 denier wherein the ultrathin filaments are entangled between yarn-yarn and/or within yarn and the woven or knit fabric has >=1X10<-10>c/cm<2> absolute value of surface electric charge density. |
