<p>A universal accumulator (10) for utilization in an automotive air conditioning system. An inlet fitting (26) and an outlet fitting (28) are connected to the top (20) of the accumulator housing (12). The adjustable connection of the outlet fitting (28) to approximately the center of the housing top (20) permits the variable positioning of the outlet port (29) relative to the inlet port (27) and utilization of the accumulator in a wide variety of automobile applications. A method for replacing an accumulator with the universal accumulator (10) of the present invention is also disclosed.</p> |
