PURPOSE:To obtain high C/N on reproducing and stable tracking property in a push-pull method by providing an intermediate layer between a specific metal layer and a recording layer and forming the metal layer in a small average thickness. CONSTITUTION:The metal layer 2 with mean thickness of 10 - 100 Angstrom , containing at least one metal selected from Au, Ta, Ti, Cr, Ni, Ag, Pt, Al, C, W, Mo, Nb, V, Fe, Co, and Si, is formed on a substrate 1, on which an intermediate layer 3 comprising polymer compd. and a recording layer 4 containing Te and Se which can be written in or read out with laser light are successively deposited. Further, a reflecting layer is formed as thin as to have the mean thickness of 10 - 100 Angstrom . The thin metal layer 2 thus formed shows a speckle pattern. By providing the intermediate layer and recording layer on this speckle pattern of the metal film, the sensitivity of the medium is improved to enhance C/N and tracking property in a push-pull method. |
