PURPOSE:To obtain the subject film having excellent low-temperature heat- shrinkability and suitable as a shrink label, etc., by copolymerizing terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and adipic acid with ethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective film having heat-shrinkability of >=40% in lateral or longitudinal direction (measured by immersing in a glycerol bath of 75 deg.C for 30sec) can be produced by mixing (A) dicarboxylic acid components consisting of (i) 93-85 mol% of terephthalic acid, (ii) 5-30mol% of isophthalic acid and (iii) 2-15 mol% of adipic acid and (B) diol components consisting of (i) 95-70mol% of ethylene glycol and (ii) 5-30mol% of neopentyl glycol, polymerizing the components to obtain a polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of preferably >=0.5 and forming the polymer in the form of a film e.g. by extrusion. |
