PURPOSE:To obtain an ink tank capable of accurately discriminating a residual ink amount in an ink storage part and a new-type liquid jet recorder using said ink tank by a relatively simple system by providing a means for storing information corresponding to a remaining ink in the ink tank. CONSTITUTION:An information memory means which is a rewritable recording medium receives information, which has been changed on the basis of an ink amount supplied to a recorder to be loaded with an ink tank, from the recorder and stores it therein. An ink tank 4 is a bag-form ink containing member 17. The information storage means is provided in an ink cassette as an integral part of the bag-form ink containing member so as to be apart from the bag-form ink containing member. The ink tank supplies an ink to an ink jet recording head 1 provided in the recorder. This information to be outputted outside from the recording head is stored in accordance with an ink. |
