1316552 Rotary distributors DUCELLIER & CIE 12 Jan 1972 [18 Jan 1971 22 Dec 1971] 1383/72 Heading H1N An ignition distributor for internal combustion engines is provided with securing means to prevent axial movement of the rotor arm on the contact-breaker cam shaft, said means being resiliently retractable when it is desired to remove said arm from said shaft. As shown the rotor arm comprises an insulating hub 4 having a metal electrode 3 and is retained on shaft 7 by a pin 13 urged into an annular groove 14 by a resilient split ring 15. In another embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown) the pin has an external head to facilitate its withdrawal, and in a modification (Fig. 7, not shown) the pin passes through the shaft 7 and has a conical tip engaged beneath the frusto-conical head of the screw (26) holding the cam on to the shaft 7. Instead of a pin the arm may be provided with a resilient tongue pressed out of a small plate 17 (Fig. 3) fitted in the hub 4A. |
